Batumi Aquarium

Came across this by pure chance today, and kept thinking about it. Beautiful, elegant and simple. By Henning Larsen Architects

"Batumi Aquarium takes inspiration from the distinctive shingle of Batumi beach, formed over thousands of years by ocean currents. The building will be located in the Georgian coastal town of Batumi and stands as an iconic rock formation - visible from both land and sea. Made up of four self-supporting exhibition areas, each stone represents a unique marine biotope; Mediterranean, Black Sea/Red Sea, the Aegean and the Indian Ocean."
