Christmas
Well it's been a long time.
A lot has happened. I think I will split what could be one massive entry, in to a couple, so people who are not very interested in......well....my life, can just skip through some bits. Actually, I'm not sure yet, so I'll have to see how long this gets, then decide. You'll never know anyway, unless I leave this dribble in, in which case; you will. Am I making any sense whatsoever?
Right.
Christmas. Christmas! It was great. The whole family (almost), plenty of food, too much wine (especially on Christmas Day, where the last thing I remember is thinking, "Gosh. Doesn't my bed look comfy..."), and wonderful gifts. I seemed to be particularly interested in my weight (not in an obsessive kind of way, but in a 'how much weight can I gain/lose in three days' kind of way). This ended up being the topic of conversation at dinner, and it was decided that a PowerPoint presentation will be made next year, which you, you lucky lot, will be able to view, provided I'm not dead or the world hasn't ended, or, for that matter, the Internet has not collapsed, which is a view I personally subscribe to. Anyway. In short, I gained, and lost 3 pounds. Or, for you foreign lot, I peaked at 68kg, but came back to my usual 65.5kg (I think). Fascinating or wot.
As said, we ate huge amounts. Here are some pictures for you, to prove it. This first one is the beef on Boxing Day before:
This one is the after:
These are the fresh veg from the garden, which actually fed 13 people. The big parsnip took two men to pull up. Not sure why you need to know that, or even see this picture really, but it was interesting at the time:
This is my Mum's Christmas lunch. It looks like a badly injured arm, if you ask me:
This was one of the puddings we had. I wish I could get a picture of what it was supposed to look like, but you know what a roulade looks like, well, this is our homemade one. It tasted a lot better than it looks. We didn't quite know what to do with it, as it kept dribbling off the plate:
This was our breakfast on Boxing Day. Sausages from Moens, the best butcher in the world, and black pudding. Can't go wrong:

Here is my Uncle, cooking the venison we had that evening. Quickly cooked all round, then sliced and served with a caper dressing. Recommened.....
Moving on.
Presents. I got some great gifts this year. Some of which made me laugh, one of which made me cry, and one of which, well, left me...curious. Look:
Yes. It's jerky of some kind. But what kind?? Look closer:
That's right! Horsemeat! It is, so the pack tells me, 100% fat free, but I still don't know if I should eat it, or frame it. I am very curious as to how it tastes, and am assured by the picture of the horse, dashing across the frozen plains of wherever, that it led a happy and fulfilling life,
but I still can't shake the image of little Shetland ponies from my mind.
Well, that just about sums up Christmas.
I think that I will make a new entry now, as this is long enough, and is quite pointless enought. But then again, is that not the point? You can't complain as it says what it is on the tin. So there.
