Two blogs about a whole lot of nothing

Argos (!), Toyota, Facebook and Constructive Dreams

You must understand that I do not dream of Toyota; it was simply a way of including all that will be in this entry, in the title. Not that the prospect of reading about Toyota will cause people to flock to my blog, particularly when it's what I have to write about it, but still, I'm just trying to be informative.

I have just come home from a great walk.
Right now, I'm loving winter. Walking down through Greenwich Park, with that deep blue sky that only comes in the winter months, sun shining, golden leaves on the trees, little puppies running at my feet (they're not mine but sometimes I pretend they are. In fact, they don't really run at my feet. They more dodge me if anything. But still, it paints a pretty picture), and without the smokey centre of London to be seen or heard. It struck me, at this point, that maybe the reason I like living in Greenwich so much, is precisely because of that; I might as well not be in London.
Anyway, I had to go to my Uni and talk finance, then to my bank to talk more finance (I was called 'sir' again in my bank. I could cope when I was 23 and a lot more butch, but now? I know I have short hair and might not wear lippy but for Pete's sake people! I'm a frigging girl! But the cashier was cute and had the sweetest Scottish accent so I let it slide), then, I had to go to return a film and wander back home. Listening to great music with sweet as thoughts in my head; it was a good walk.

Now, it occured to me during this walk, that I can post music on this blog (I might have been able to do this on MySpace, I just never thought to try), so that you lucky readers can listen to what I was listening to. Or some of it. I'm going to try to do this right now...

Hmm. It tells me that I must wait '588 days', but I'm fairly certain this isn't true. We will wait and see. This could be a really, really long entry.

(587 days, 23 hours and 56 minutes later) Here they are! Just a taster.....I will most definitely be posting more music though, so it might be worth dropping by to see what is up (a lot will be old, but all will be good).

Gail In The O (John Acquaviva & Damon Jee Remix) - Olivier Giacomotto

Giorgio Prezioso and Libe - Pongo

Axwell - Submariner

Anywho. I dreamt about Facebook last night. That's all I remember. This might be a sign that I spend too much time online, on Facebook. Anyway, it got me to thinking about something someone told me the other day about the possibility of programming your dreams, so as to allow you to use your dreams constructively. This intrigues me. I found this:

and think I might give it a go tonight. What can I lose? I'm not sure how I feel about dreams. I have had two in my life which I've not been able to shake off. One recurring one, which was scary but obviously about me being afraid to lose my family, and one which still effectively 'haunts' me to this day. Don't get me wrong; it wasn't scary, or weird at all, in fact, it was totally random and, to put it simply, about a room. I couldn't concentrate for days after as all I could picture was this room, and I had an overwhelming sense that this room held some sort of meaning for me. Or, maybe it was just a totally meaningless room. I just don't know. Either way, I can't help but wonder if one's mind is trying to tell you something through your dreams. Maybe it is just a random sequence of images being flashed through your mind, or maybe it is something else. Anyway, if I manage to find some sort of deeper meaning through my attempt at programming my dream, you'll be the first to know. Actually the second, but who's counting.

Now, Toyota. This advert:

is genius. I only really noticed it as I'm reading about road transport, the environment and all CSR related things. But I can't help but be cynical about it as it's all a load of greenwashing. Giving the public what they want, as soon as it becomes a newsworthy subject. But, it's a great ad, and an even better line.

Now for the moment you've all been waiting for: the Argos ad. You'll know I tried to write about this ad a bit ago, but couldn't as I wanted to include the actual advert, but couldn't at the time.
I would just like to say that if you have actually been waiting for this, you're very sad. Even more so than I, I dare to say. Anyway, I just love this advert. Keep your eyes open for the woman looking totally lost, dazed and confused and the woman whose cramps are being stretched out. The jogging at the lights and the water over the head just make it a classic:

Ha ha ha God it's good..... A 21st century Christmas indeed...

I also bought a gingerbread latte from Starbucks today, and it was delicious. I recommend them.
