Ads for The ADDYs

The 2012 ADDYs are coming up, and have a number of spots to support them. Some are total bollocks, like this:

Some are good for one line, such as "The miracle of childbirth is a clusterfuck of coordination."

Others are actually OK. 

The Scale of the Universe

My lovely wife reminded me of this today; Scale of the Universe. To make you feel even smaller, check out the video after. We're really just so very, very, very tiny.

Fireflies Captured with Long Exposure

When I was 21 I was in Virginia with my best friend. There were fireflies all over and she spent about a roll of film trying to take a photo (bear in mind we didn't have digital back then). Needless to say, when we got the roll developed, all we had was 34 photos of undergrowth. Obviously long exposure is the way to go. These are by the far more talented Tsuneaki Hiramatsu.
