Two blogs about a whole lot of nothing

R Whites Lemonade

I remember the original ad from my childhood. It was one of those things that stuck in your head, like 'a finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat', and 'how do you eat yours?' Anyway, to launch their new lemonade lolly, R Whites tracked down the same couple, and basically made the ad again (with Talyor Herring). Check it out. The original is after.

Pringles - Tribe

A brilliant new Pringles spot from Grey, Mexico. People always bitch and moan about the size of the tube, so it's great to see it being addressed - especially when it's in a way that says 'we hear you, but get over it'.

Update: Apparently the idea was nicked from this Tumblr, although neither the owners or Grey have spoken out about it, except to say that the spot was never authorised to run. Personally I think it's a great spot, and while the idea could have been taken from the blog (even if it was, it's all inspiration), I can easily imagine someone else from Grey coming up with it. So there.

Organizerman

Here's another Swedish advert, this time a little more weird. Here's the background: "Unionen is a Swedish union for civil servants. Last year they launched the concept "Powers out of the ordinary - at work". Showing members whose new found confidence and skill in their work place have gone to their heads. They've started thinking in terms of "If Bruce Wayne can be Batman, i can be Organizerman". By ANR BBDO.

Why does he have a pet seagull? Answers on a postcard... Oh, I just found this explanation: "Cultural sidenote: in the spot featuring a seagull, in Swedish "big gull" apparently has a double meaning. It can refer to the bird, of course, but it also means "big mouth." So when Organizerman brings his gull to work, it looks like he's surely in for it."

It appears that there are lots more, but so far without English subtitles. I like this one, even if you can't understand a word they're saying.
