Unignorable

I just love the idea of creating a colour so vivid and so loud that you simply can’t not see it. That’s what Pantone and United Way, a Canadian network of non-profits, have set out to do.

“For its new campaign, Show Your Local Love, United Way wanted to make local issues – such as poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, mental health and social isolation – unignorable. So it partnered up with the Pantone Color Institute to develop a unique Pantone shade aimed at highlighting these issues in a way that's hard to overlook. The result is Unignorable, a colour that's guaranteed to grab your attention.”

I wish there was more about the science and research behind this project. Colours are incredibly powerful, so how did they end up with this exact hue? Nevertheless, it’s a great idea, and it is an eye-catching colour.

This campaign builds on the long tradition of art for social change." - Nation Cheong, VP Community Opportunities, United Way See behind the scenes of the Pantone Color Institute® and what it took to make the most unignorable colour in the world. Share and get involved at ShowYourLocalLove.ca

Timelapse of the entire universe

It’s no secret we’ve been here for just a mo, but this is nicely done.

On a cosmic time scale, human history is as brief as the blink of an eye. By compressing all 13.8 billion years of time into a 10 minute scale, this video shows just how young we truly are, and just how ancient and vast our universe is.
