Prattle & Jaw

Two blogs about a whole lot of nothing

Le Week Le 25

It's been a crazy week, this week, and right now I'm just waiting for this baby to get sleepy so he can go to bed. I will probably follow soon after.

Let's jump right in with one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. I'd love to see a documentary about Manhattan. Maybe there's one out there. I've not actually checked...

These posters for the up and coming Batman v Superman film are very nice. I love the simplicity of the idea.

Now that we're talking about Superman, take a look at what Zack Snyder's Man of Steel would look like if it was in colour.

VideoLab attempts to turn back time and restore the natural color & brightness in shots from DC's Man of Steel. Turns out there was a beautiful Zack Snyder movie hiding underneath the bleak coloring. Would Man of Steel have been more successful at the box office if it wasn't colored like Schindler's List?

Do you like Hillary Clinton? Then you'll like her laughing. The internet is a strange place...

Happy Queen, sad Queen.

The weirdest advert I've seen in a while.

I've leapt down from the cloud on a mission to defeat my one sworn enemy - crappy customer experiences.

There are few things I enjoy more than a good ghost town, so in some ways, I can understand the want to leave this incredible collection of classic cars to rot in a forest. There's no denying the moss, leaves, earth, and rust all create a very real sense of history, and maybe even make a bigger impact than if the cars were kept, mint condition, in a museum. They kick start your imagination so much more, I think. Where were they used? Who owned them? What happened? How did they get here? All you have to do is stare, and let your imagination run wild. Beautiful.

To finish off, here are some babies reacting to the new Star Wars trailer (that was really very good).

Weeeeeeeek 24! This Way Nonsense Lies

That's right, nonsense. As usual. Although you might find something useful, I doubt it. Anyway, that's dribble. Speaking of dribble, my son produces gallons of the stuff. It's only been a week but I already can't wait until he learns to shut his gob. No doubt something I'll be wishing for a very long time, but what can you do?

To start things off, look how cinnamon is harvested. It's kind of like how you'd expect, really...but it's still nice to watch.

One of the most beloved spices in the world, Cinnamon is actually the dried and curled up inner bark of one of several varietals of trees in the genus Cinnamomum. Cassia Cinnamon is one of those varietals and the majority of it grows in the lush Kerenci Valley on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia.

Speaking of food, sort of, check out the top 18 lunches of British people. No doubt number one is accompanied by a bag of salt and vinegar and washed down with a Coke, or a nice cuppa if you're in the office. Personally, I love a good cheese sandwich, but normally have a tuna thing, in case you're interested.

On a sort of similar note, these are the little things that make us happy. British people, that is. We're simple folk. Can't argue with number 41. I love the smell of pencils in the morning.

I admit I just saw number 47 on that list. At least we're honest. We're also silly, as is evident in the video below.

Oh look! This is something useful. Feel free to print this out, or just memorise it (good luck). Look me in the eyes and tell me you knew these. You can't. For numerous reasons. So there.

Naturally, this leads to me to photos of lions.

These photos were taken by a very lucky man who snapped them just before he got back in the vehicle, and obviously just before Herre Lion bit his head off. If he looks mad now, just imagine how upset he was when his lunch drove away.

Miaow.

To lighten up the mood, here' Sylvester Stallone in a bread advert. Yes, that's right.

Sylvester Stallone's stars in the Warburtons advert, premiered during the Britain's Got Talent show on Saturday 11th April 2015. High quality version.

Here's something useful for you Android users. If you lose your phone, all you have to do is open up Google, type 'find my phone', and hit search/enter. And there it is (of course, you have to have your location turned on  and be connected to the internet in one way or another, but still!).

Finally, because the sun is out and we all like to have a pint or two in the sun, this wonderful site from Poke will let you do just that.

Have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy those pints.
